Car Burglaries And Thefts Reported In Livingston Last Week

A car with a key left in it was stolen overnight, and other cars were entered around Livingston, police said.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston police reported the following car thefts and burglaries over the last week, as well as a person who was charged with drug crimes after being pulled over:

Car Stolen After Key Left Inside

On Tuesday at 7:18 a.m., police were dispatched to a Laurel Avenue residence. A person said that a Honda CRV had been stolen at some point overnight. It had been left unlocked with the key inside. The Detective Bureau is investigating.

Car Burglaries

On April 28, police were dispatched at 10:55 p.m. to a Springbrook Road residence on a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. It was found that a 2018 Mercedes Benz had been entered and cash stolen from inside the vehicle. The vehicle had been left unlocked, police said.

On April 29, at 10:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to Glannon Road. Someone told them that cash and a phone charger were taken from a Honda CRV.

When asked, police said the amount of cash was less than $1,000.

Drug Arrest After Vehicle Stop

On April 27 at 2 p.m., Officer David Naylor was patrolling and saw a silver Dodge traveling in the area of West Mount Pleasant Avenue and Daven Road. He pulled the car over for motor vehicle violations, police said. An investigation led to the arrest of passenger, Jeffrey Stone, 34, of Stewartsville. Stone was found to be in possession of suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia, police said.

He was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to turn over a controlled dangerous substance. The charges were placed on a summons and he was released.
