LIVINGSTON, NJ — An attempt to steal a car at a car wash in Livingston on Monday turned out to be, well, a wash, police said.

Police were told that suspects pulled up to the car wash while a 2022 BMW X7 was outside. One person got out of the vehicle and tried to start the BMW, but was unsuccessful. That person returned to the waiting vehicle and fled, police said.
