Citizens Police Academy In Livingston Will Give Glimpse Into ‘Daily Realities’ Of The Job

The no-cost, 10-week program gives local residents an exclusive, "hands-on" look at modern police practices and operations.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The following news release comes courtesy of the Livingston Police Department. Find out how to post announcements or events to your local Patch site.

Applications are open for the Livingston Police Department's 2026 Citizens Police Academy. This no-cost, 10-week program gives local residents an exclusive, hands-on look at modern police practices, operations, and the daily realities of law enforcement in the township.

The program will run every Thursday from September 10 through November 12, 2026, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. To be eligible, applicants must be at least 21-years-old and reside or work in the Township of Livingston.

Applications are due by Monday, July 27, 2026, though the class is contingent on reaching a minimum number of participants. Forms can be downloaded online at livingstonnj.org/211/Forms or picked up in person at police headquarters (333 Souuth Livingston Avenue).
