Classic Movie at Livingston Library

The Winter-Spring Classic Movie Series at Livingston Public Library, “From Stage to Screen,” features stage plays that were made into movies. The fourth in the six-part series is 1949’s On the Town, Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 7:00pm. Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, and Betty Garrett are among the stars in the 1949 film. On The Town includes wonderful music by Leonard Bernstein and book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. There are terrific shots of New York at its best.

The film runs for 98 minutes and is rated “Passed,” by the Motion Picture Production Code in the 1940s.
