ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Rain and wind gusts are still expected in Essex County on Friday as the storm continues, the National Weather Service said.

A total of 1.44 inches of rain were expected to fall in the Newark region through Friday.

Friday: Rain, mainly before 4 p.m. Temperature falling to around 38 by 5 p.m. Northeast wind 14 to 18 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
