Community Bulletin Board is Back
Construction on new electronic board will begin soon.

Livingston's community bulletin board is making a return, after an absence of a few years, and it will be better than before.
"We've all missed the old community board in front of the library," said Mayor Arlene Johnson at Monday's Township Council meeting. "We have wanted to replace it with a more attractive sign so that several items could be displayed."
That's what the community will get after the council voted on Monday to approve a resolution to award a $25,160 contract to Millennium Enterprises, LLC to construct the bulletin board, which will stand near the entrance to the Oval and library by S. Livingston Avenue.

But in this tight budget season, Livingston isn't paying out of its own pocket for the board. The township has been aggressive in pursuing grants and the bulletin board will be covered by the Local Public Health Emergency Response to H1N1 grant from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.
Mayor Johnson addressed how money for a health response could cover a community bulletin board since the correlation isn't necessarily direct.

"Because it will convey public information about health clinics, too. That it will also convey other information is gravy."
Construction on the board will start soon. Keep your eyes out for the new digital design.
