Cookie Cutters Opens New, Kid-Friendly Hair Salon In Livingston

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids announced Tuesday that it is continuing its North Jersey expansion with a new, child-friendly hair salon in Livingston.

The Utah-based chain – known for its in-store playgrounds, fantasy chairs, TVs and video games that put both kids and parents at ease – has opened its newest venture in The Shoppes at Livingston Circle.

Other Cookie Cutters locations recently opened in Spotswood and Edgewater.

The Livingston salon is owned and operated by husband and wife, Arvind and Neetu Bhandari, who have committed to opening two additional salons in the region, according to a news release.

“I used to style my son’s hair until he was nine-years-old, and while it was fun, there were times when I was in need of a stylist that specialized on working with children” Neetu Bhandari said. “Haircuts should be a fun experience for every child, and a stress-free trip for parents. Cookie Cutters is the perfect salon that appeals to every child’s desire of play while getting a difficult task accomplished. Our salon takes the hassle out of haircuts, and provides a wonderful experience for everyone.”

Every Cookie Cutters stylist is trained to work with special needs children as well, the pair pointed out.

“Many times, kids with special needs cannot sit still for a haircut and parents struggle to find a patient stylist to trim their child’s hair,” Arvind said. “A busy salon can make them feel overstimulated and anxious, and they can be frightened by the noises scissors make. Not to mention, children are just wary of strangers in general. We want to make difficult haircuts for kids a thing of the past.”
