Council Clarifies Speed Issue on Beaufort Ave.
Council explains how the speed change will be a decrease, not increase.

The Township Council made sure to clarify the pending speed change for Beaufort Avenue at Monday's meeting.
"There was a misunderstanding with the Police Department," explained Township Manager Michele Meade. "I went over it with the Chief [of Police] this morning. Currently, the speed limit is 50mph, except for one stretch that is 25mph. The recommendation would make all of Beaufort Avenue 35 mph," said Meade.
At the July 26 conference meeting, the council had discussed that Beaufort Avenue would be undergoing a speed change and that the limit would be raised 10 mph — from 25 to 35 mph. But that changed on Monday once the information was clarified.
