Do You Know A Livingston Girl Scout Who Won Awards? Even From 90 Years Ago?
Now that the town of Livingston is honoring Boy Scouts throughout history with a plaque, they're seeking information about Girl Scouts too.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — At the Girl Scout Service Unit 30 award ceremony on June 19, Livingston
Mayor Michael Vieira mentioned a plaque in Town Hall with all the Livingston Eagle Scout names.
He would like to do the same for Livingston Girl Scouts' Gold Award recipients, a community member noted recently.
"Since I have been involved with our recognition ceremony since 1996, I personally have all the names of the girls from 1996 to 2023," wrote Carole Mackenzie. "I do have one name from 1934. I am currently searching West Essex Tribune archives for names from 1929 to 1995.

"Please note that we would also like the names of First Class, Curved Bar, or Golden Eaglet Scouts, as these names were forerunners of the Gold Award."
Mackenzie said, "I would like to ask for help from the public. If you have names of Livingston Girl Scout highest award recipients from before 1996, please email me."
