Downed Power Lines Close Roads In Livingston: Police
Part of JFK Parkway and other roads closed after several rounds of storms. A thunderstorm watch for Essex County continues.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston police said at 4:18 p.m. that downed power lines had closed a few area roads.
They said in a message:
"Due to power lines being down the following roads are closed:

JFK Pkwy is closed southbound from E. Hobart Gap Road all of the way to Parsonage Hill Road.
E. Hobart Gap Rd at S. Orange Ave you can ONLY turn right."

Several Rounds Of Storms
The area has been hit with several rounds of storms today.
A flash flood warning — meaning the threat of flooding is imminent — has been issued for northern Essex County by the National Weather Service until 4:30 p.m. and more thunderstorms are expected until 10 p.m. this evening.
The NWS specifically mentioned a series of Bergen and Essex county towns in its flood warning statement, including Caldwell. They said some water rescues have already occurred.
The NWS also said all Essex County towns were in the path of severe thunderstorms through 4 p.m.
In North Jersey, sudden floods in the last two years have trapped people and caused the loss of life.
Officials advise residents not to try to drive through floodwaters.
"Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...Paterson, Passaic, Wayne, Bloomfield, Hackensack, Bergenfield,Paramus, Ridgewood, Lyndhurst, Rutherford, Secaucus, Ramsey, Ridgefield, Caldwell, Kearny, Englewood, Hawthorne, Oradell, Norwood and Teterboro," the NWS said about the flood warning, which ends at 4:30.
