'Drug Take Back Day' In Livingston: Dispose Of Unwanted Meds
Livingston has two permanent "Drug Drop Boxes" for unwanted medications. Here's where they can be found.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — Need a place to drop off unwanted medications for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day in Livingston?
There are two permanent “Drug Drop Boxes” located in the lobby of Livingston Police Headquarters at 333 South Livingston Avenue. Residents can stop by and deposit unused, unwanted, and expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medications in the boxes anonymously any time. Containers can be placed in the box individually or in plastic Ziploc-type bags. The only items that are not acceptable are syringes, EpiPens, and other sharp instruments.
For those who need a little bit of motivation, National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is a good chance: it takes place this year on Saturday, April 26.

According to the township:
“Take Back Day encourages the public to dispose of old, unused, unwanted, and expired prescription and over-the-counter medications properly and safely to help lower the risk of drug abuse and misuse. Doing so also keeps potentially toxic chemicals out of the soil and water system. This helps to preserve a safe and healthy environment for future generations.”
