Entrepreneurial Essex County Teen Opens Power Washing Business

Generally, most teens looking for summer employment find an established business to work for. And, like most teens, Johnny Gerecs, 17, of North Caldwell did just that for the last two summers. He gained a lot of knowledge from those experiences but decided this summer he wanted to try working for himself.

Johnny comes from a long line of entrepreneurs. After a lot of research, dedication, and practice, he opened his own business. Johnny decided on a company name, opened an LLC, purchased the equipment, began advertising, did lots of practicing, and ultimately started his own power washing business called Reds Power Washing!

So far, he is really enjoying making business connections, getting his name out there, and working for himself! “Power washing is extremely satisfying work,” says Johnny, who likes sharing before and after photos of his jobs that show how clean surfaces can become through power washing.
