On Sunday morning January 25th, the Men’s Club at Temple B’nai Abraham held its annual sports breakfast. The speaker for this year’s event was former Rutgers University defensive lineman, sportscaster and author Eric LeGrand. A standout high school football player from New Jersey, Eric LeGrand went on to play for Rutgers University and by his sophomore year he led the team with 13 tackles on kickoff coverage and recorded a tackle-for-loss in seven games. But a severe spinal injury from an intense collision during a game at MetLife Stadium, dramatically changed his life. LeGrand spoke on his life experiences since the accident and overcoming adversity. Eric engaged the nearly 200 in attendance with some very personal stories about how his life has been forever changed by this tragedy and his will and perseverance to overcome. The event was an inspiration to everyone in attendance, which included over 50 children from the Livingston community and surrounding areas. Prior to Eric taking the stage, attendees were treated to a delicious hot breakfast that members of the Men’s Club prepared.
