Bagpipe and Drum Exhibition Commemorates September 11

To commemorate the lives lost on September 11, 2001, Saint Barnabas Burn Foundation will host a Bag Pipe and Drum Exhibition on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Liberty Science Center. The Exhibition will feature individual performances by more than 20 police, firefighter and civilian bands, including the Essex County Emerald Society Pipe Band and Pipe and Drum of the Blue and Gold comprised primarily of current and former members of the New Jersey State Police. The afternoon will culminate in an impressive massed band performance which is sure to be a moving tribute to the citizens, first responders, firefighters, police, EMTs and all of those whose lives were tragically cut short nearly ten years ago.

The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the outdoor grounds of Liberty Science Center Grounds in Jersey City, NJ. While free, donations are appreciated. Proceeds will benefit the national Wounded Warriors Project whose mission is to foster the most successful and well-adjusted generation of wounded warriors in our nation’s history.  There is a fee for parking. Outside food and drink is not permitted but will be available for purchase. To learn more, please contact Beverly Foster at the Saint Barnabas Burn Foundation, 973-322-4344 or bfoster@sbhcs.com.
