Landscape painter/photographer Michal Barkai from Livingston and portrait//still life/landscape painter Rosalia Tignini Verdun from Roselle Park are exhibiting together at the Livingston Sr./Community Center in Livingston. The exhibition is sponsored by the Arts Council of Livingston.
These award winning artists work in a variety of mediums including oils, acrylics, pastels, and photography. Barkai focuses on the changing seasons with realism and detail. Verdun focuses on realistic portraiture, still life and romantic dreamscapes.
Barkai, an IT trained professional turned full time artist, is active in local art groups, volunteering her time to coordinate and promote exhibitions. She currently serves as Publicity Chair for the Pastel Society of New Jersey and coordinates the Visions Artists Group, which she co-founded with Verdun in 2007. Verdun was educated as a fashion designer and devotes her time now to the visual arts, working in a wide range of mediums and teaching acrylic.
