Influenza (flu) is a respiratory infection caused by viruses. When people get the flu, they may have fever, chills, headache, dry cough or muscle aches. The illness may last several days or a week or more and complete recovery is usual, however complications may lead to pneumonia or more serious problems.. An injection of the flu will not give you the flu because the vaccine is made of killed viruses. It is important for people with diabetes, cardiac, respiratory or lung disease to have the protection of the flu shot.

Call the township's Nursing Division if you have any questions or for further information at (973)-535-7961 ext.  26, 227 or 228.
