FREE Film Screening of MARINO'S, Written and Produced by Short Hills Resident Sarit Catz, and a Winner of the 2010 Garden State Film Festival

Honored as Outstanding Home-Grown Pilot at the 2010 Garden State Film Festival, "Marino's" is a short film that comedically presents the travails of an Italian-American family in Hoboken as they navigate the transformation of their hometown, where they run a traditional deli, from a predominantly Italian, working-class enclave to a magnet for upscale professionals and trendy restaurants.  The film features screen and stage veterans Mike Marino, Concetta Tomei, and Joe Grifasi.  Writer/Producer Sarit Catz is a fixture of the television and film industry, with credits on "Coach," "Full House," "Soul Man," "Café Americain," and "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids." Her indie TV pilot, "What She's Having," screened at both the New York Television Festival and the Big Apple Film Festival. Her most recent short film, "Comic Belief," screened as part of the NewFilmmakers Spring 2009 Screening Series at Anthology Film Archives in Manhattan and won the Windsor Prize for Arts in Film. Catz has won three Writers' Guild of America Awards and has been named a semi-finalist in the ScriptapaloozaTV screenwriting contest.

This free screening is sponsored by the National Council of Jewish Women, Essex County Section.  For more information about NCJW, visit our website at www.ncjwessex.org
