Obesity continues to be a problem among American children and teens. Youth that are overweight or obese have a greater risk for developing many health problems such as diabetes and hypertension.
In response, The Pediatric Specialty Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center is offering a Healthy LIFE Super Seminar on September 20, 2011, for kids and teens who tend to put on weight more easily than others. This fun and educational one-time seminar will teach many basics of healthy weight management, including nutrition information, behavioral skills, and the importance of enjoyable exercise.
The seminar is led by Debra Gill, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist and certified fitness instructor with over 15 years experience facilitating weight management and healthy lifestyle change.
