Livingston Board of Education Meeting with Discussion of New Law

The New Jersey State Senate and General Assembly passed, by an overwhelming bipartisan majority, legislation allowing school districts to move the date of the election of school board members and public questions to spend in excess of 2% levy cap from April to the General Election in November.  Governor Christie signed this legislation into law (P.L. 2011, c. 202) on January 17, 2012 and it became effective immediately with his signature.

The Livingston Board of Education will discuss and consider the law at their Monday, January 23, 2012 Board of Education meeting which will be held in the Livingston High School auditorium at 7:30 p.m.  Community members are invited and encouraged to attend.   For highlights of P.L. 2011, c. 202 click here.
