On March 24th 2012 Concert at 7:30pm, LSO Celebrates Youth and Romance, opening with Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture. The next part of the program is dedicated to presenting the Young Artist Competition winner, to be determined following competitive auditions in December of this year, open to talented young instrumentalists from the tri-state area, ages 14 to 23. In addition to the opportunity to perform a concerto with the orchestra, a $1000 cash prize is presented to the competition winner. The evening will culminate in the performance of Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2.
