Senior/Adult Program Objective:    The Education Department at NJPIES has developed this workshop for adults and senior citizens and providers with the purpose of empowering NJ Residents with the information necessary to adhere to poison safe practices in their home and community.  The following outline details the topics that will be covered throughout the program with a focus on how it is applicable to senior citizens.  Much of this program is dedicated to medication safety and general home safety.

Program Design:  This program includes interactive components and encourages a discussion and Q/A atmosphere.  Free educational materials will be provided to all participants.

 Program Content:    Medication Safety:  Program participants will learn how to poison proof their home and develop easy routines to manage a healthy lifestyle.

 Household Cleaners:   Identify and Define Poisons
 Outdoor Safety:  Garden, pesticide, herbicide, and recreational safety tips will be discussed.     Where to Get Help: Program will include a description of the range of services offered to seniors.
