The Arts Council of Livingston is proudly sponsoring a poetry workshop, supported by a grant from Essex County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs. Leading this program will be Dodge Fellow poet Kenneth Ronkowitz, assisted by visiting guest poets who will both teach poetic technique and perform their works. A unique feature of this workshop will be the combining of poetry and visual arts under the direction of well known local artist Hugh Mahon.
The series of four classes will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., beginning on November 15th and continuing weekly through December 6th. The series will conclude with a Poetry Night on Tuesday Dec. 13th, in which participants will read works created in the instructional sessions. All sessions, including the Poetry Night, will be held at the ACL Gallery in the Livingston Town Center, where attendees can exercise their poetic talents surrounded by the beautiful works of art on display in the Gallery.
Enrollment in this series and attendance at the poetry night are free to members of the community. Class size will be limited to 15 participants. Advance registration is necessary for the instructional sessions, but not for the poetry night, where friends and family of the poetry readers are also invited. Please contact MarthaAckermann, President Arts Council of Livingston, at 973/535-9679 or ctlonthestage@aol.com to reserve a place.
