The Livingston Public Library will host a free screening of Joyful Noise (2011) 118 minutes, rated PG-13, as part of the 2012 Summer Film Series.
The larger-than-life personalities of Oscar nominees Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah help to buoy Joyful Noise, a comedy-musical about two strong-minded women who clash over the direction of a small-town church choir. Though the plot sometimes goes off course, the musical numbers are the film's strongest selling point.
