Temple B'nai Abraham Book Group with Rabbi Kulwin

Book Group with Rabbi Kulwin Spring 2012

What’s New? This spring, we get caught up on what’s new. These critically acclaimed works look at wildly different perspectives of Jewish life:  Anne Frank turns up in a funny – that’s right – funny novel set in the Catskills, and Deborah Feldman’s memoir describes the “scandalous” rejection of her Hasidic roots.

All are welcome to attend. Most classes/programs are free, unless otherwise indicated. To register click here or contact the temple office at 973.994.2290.

Hope: A Tragedy by Shalom Auslander
Anyone who read Auslander’s first book, Foreskin’s Lament, will long remember it, and the same will no doubt be true for Hope. Solomon Kugel flees north to the simplicity of the rural life. Only it ain’t that simple. His marriage is rough, his mother is a pain, arson is everywhere, and, oh yes, Anne Frank is hiding in his attic. How much can one evasive Jew evade?
