Walking Tour of Historic Harlem, New York

On Sunday, May 15, 2011, join the Prime Time Group of Temple B’nai Abraham for a Walking Tour of Historic Harlem, New York with Big Onion Tours, including a buffet brunch at Amy Ruth’s Restaurant and a tour of the renowned Apollo Theater. The bus will leave Temple B’nai Abraham, 300 E Northfield Rd, Livingston  at 8:30 AM and return between 3:30-4:00 PM.

 Everyone is welcome, bring your friends. The cost for the Harlem Trip is $65 for Prime Time members and $75 for non-members. Big Onion Tours will educate us on the history, people and architecture of the neighborhood. Stops will include the Schomberg Center for Research in Black Culture, 135th Street YMCA, Strivers Row, Abyssinian Baptist Church and numerous sites associated with the Harlem Renaissance.

 Brunch at Amy Ruth’s will be a classic home style breakfast including eggs, French toast, fried chicken and biscuits, coffee and juice. Finally we will have a guided tour of the famous Apollo Theater. The trip will take place rain or shine.

 The Prime Time Group, chaired by TBA member Ethel Singer, is geared to those over 55 but open to all. The group has completed nine successful years of programming for our membership and other interested temple members and friends. Our activities have included trips, walking tours, theatre parties, speakers, entertainers, barbecues and picnics. Annual Prime Time dues are $15 per person.
