Fireworks Will Return At Livingston’s 2024 July 4th Celebration
Livingston is bringing back its annual July 4th event, including a public fireworks display. Here are the details.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston is bringing back its family friendly July 4th celebration for 2024, including a public fireworks display.
The township will hold its 87th annual celebration on Thursday, July 4. The day-long festivities will mainly take place on and around Memorial Oval (Robert Harp Drive), with special events at Northland Recreation Center (3 Madison Court).
Events kick off at the Oval at 9 a.m. with the largest Auto Show in NJ, and end with a 9 p.m. fireworks display. The complete schedule of events, event sponsors and more information can be seen online here.

Here’s what else is on tap for this year’s holiday event, according to a township news release:
“The official annual welcome ceremony begins at 9:00 a.m. at the Mervyn V.T. Haines Community Pool on Wahler Road and is followed by a children’s swim carnival. The largest July 4th Car Show in New Jersey also kicks off at 9:00 a.m. in the Livingston High School parking lot.

“Between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., attendees will find free kids’ pony rides, 9-hole mini golf, and a giant Connect 4 game on the Oval. At 12:30 p.m., younger kids will enjoy the Powerhouse Studios Hocus Pocus Magic Show, following which older kids can participate in the Wild & Wacky Show. The traditional July 4th an ice cream-eating contest will take place at 2:30 p.m..
“From 12:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., there are also inflatables, a rock wall, hatchet throwing, a bungee jump and a 250-foot zip line. There will be food trucks and vendors on the Oval during the afternoon and evening.
“Northland Recreation Center will host a cricket game from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Pickleball from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. There will also be food trucks at that location, and a free shuttle offering transportation between Northland and the Oval.
“The beer & wine garden opens at 3:00 p.m. with 2 live bands: Brian Drux Project and Livingston Leo & The Goodhart Boyz. From 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. attendees can also enjoy a rolling video games truck and a race car simulator.
“As the beer & wine garden winds down, attendees are encouraged to find a spot for their blanket or chair on the Oval and prepare for the day’s grand finale. At 7:30 p.m., main stage entertainment will be provided by “We May Be Right” — a Billy Joel Cover Band — followed by the township’s annual fireworks spectacular.”
