First Aid Squad Receives $1,200

Chelsea Senior Living and Inglemoor Rehabilitation and Care Center showed its appreciation for the care its residents receive from the Livingston First Aid Squad by making a $1,200 donation to the squad.  during the care center’s recent annual golf outing at Fiddler’s Elbow Golf Club in Bedminster. 

Golfers and/or their companies paid to play and some sponsored a banner, holes or tees. At the conclusion of the outing, checks were presented to the various volunteer squads that serve Chelsea communities including: Livingston, Bridgewater, East Brunswick, Fanwood, Manalapan, Montville, Tinton Falls and Warren, as well as the Brentwood Assisted Living in the Toms River section of Dover and The Worthington in Brick.

The First Aid Squad’s Fund Drive Chairman, Scott Maynard, explained that Inglemoor’s donation will be spent on much-needed new equipment.  He also said the Squad is looking for grants to help purchase new training mannequins. 

All of the squad’s funding comes from tax deductible donations and there is never a fee for the group’s services. Maynard pointed out that whereas other communities charge for first aid services, the township’s volunteer organization saves Livingston residents more than $2 million per year.

“We have a great relationship with Inglemoor and we’re very grateful for their support,” said Maynard.
