Free BMI, Glucose Screenings Offered In Livingston

The Livingston Health Department, in partnership with Overlook Medical Center, is offering free health screenings on March 1.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston Health Department, in partnership with Overlook Medical Center, will offer a free BMI (body mass index) and glucose screening on Friday, March 1, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Livingston Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue (lower level).

According to a municipal news release, the screening will also include education and counseling services.

In addition, in recognition of Colon Cancer Awareness Month, Overlook Medical Center will be providing health education about colon cancer and tips for keeping the colon healthy.

According to a municipal news release, while some risk factors for colon cancer cannot be controlled, others—such as diet, getting screened regularly, and lack of physical activity—can be changed.

Pre-registration for the BMI and glucose screening is requested but not required. For more information or to register, call 908-522-2842.
