LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston will celebrate National Night Out along with thousands of other communities across the country on Tuesday, Aug. 1. As always, they'll offer tethered hot air balloon rides to ticket holders, with tickets having been given out earlier this month.

The event will take place beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Oval.

National Night Out is meant to bring people and law enforcement together and to raise awareness against crime.

The rides will be offered from 8-10 p.m. All proceeds will be donated to Shiv’s Third Eye, a local organization begun in memory of Livingston resident Shiv Kulkarni, a local teen who passed away two years ago next week.

As all of the proceeds are being donated to charity, no refunds will be given if the balloon is cancelled due to weather or other circumstances.

In case of rain, the event will be held inside Livingston High School.

Livingston’s event is supported by donations from Expert Plowing and Landscape, Crystal Plaza, New York Life Insurance, Pepsi, Panek’s Service Center, Livingston Collision and ShopRite.
