The Livingston Advisory Committee for Disabilities (LACD) is pleased to announce that it will continue its two popular recurring programs for people with special needs into 2026, a weekly after school sports program for children and a monthly arts and crafts program for children and adults.

LACD’s Wednesday after school sports program will run through May 13, 2026, and will be held every Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Monmouth Court Community Center, 26 Monmouth Court, Livingston. The program will not be held on February 18, or April 1. Participants will enjoy a variety of fun and accessible sports and games, including wiffle ball, kickball, soccer, floor hockey, bowling, and volleyball using a beach ball. Siblings and parents are welcome to participate.

The committee will also continue its monthly arts and crafts program through May 4, 2026. The program takes place from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Monmouth Court Community Center Lounge. 2026 sessions will be held on February 2, March 2, April 6, and May 4. Participants should enter and exit through the side door of the building.

Both programs are supervised by adult volunteers and supported by high school student volunteers, creating a safe, inclusive, and judgment-free environment. Children and adults with special needs are encouraged to participate at their own pace while exploring different sports, games, and art media. The programs also provide valuable opportunities for participants to interact with caring volunteers, helping to support social interaction, communication, and confidence while having fun.
