Fright Night, Haunted Walk + Trunk Or Treat In Livingston This Weekend

Find both tricks and treats at Halloween events this weekend in Livingston.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The end of October is in sight, and there are events both spooky and sweet in Livingston for Halloween lovers of all ages.

Scare levels vary for the Haunted Walk, from Friday-Sunday. Earlier walks are suited for kids under 10, and for family members who have special needs. A more frightening walk is later in the evening.

And on Halloween night, the township is sponsoring both a Trunk-or-Treat and a costume contest. Read on for more details below.

Haunted Walk: Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue

You can try out the Haunted Walk on any of three nights: Oct. 28, 29, and 30. There are three separate walks for different demographics.

"Take a twisted walk through the woods where the dead have risen to life. Scary by day, haunted by night," say organizers.

The times are:

5-6 p.m.: Appropriate for children ages 7 & up.
6-6:45 p.m.: Reserved for families with special needs individuals
6:45-8:30 p.m.: Not recommended for kids under 10.
All children under 10 years old must be with a parent at all times. Sneakers and a flashlight are recommended.

Admission Fee: $5 per person (cash).

Fright Night Activities:

Trunk or Treat: Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue

Trunk or treat takes place 4-6:30 p.m. on Halloween. Kids will be able to walk from vehicle to vehicle in the parking lot of LSCC collecting treats in their costumes.

Registration for trunk or treating is not required.

Pre-registration is required to enter your decorated vehicle by emailing Corinne Judge at cjudge@livingstonnj.org. Deadline to register a vehicle is Friday, Oct 21. Limited parking spaces available. If you are entering a car, please provide your own treats, pre-packaged only. Please be prepared for a big crowd. Prize for best decorated car.

Halloween Costume Contest Parade: Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue

The contest and parade begin at 4:30 p.m. sharp on Halloween. Participants will have the opportunity to parade around the Senior Community Center in their Halloween costumes. There will be 2 winners for each of six categories.

There will be other attractions at the event, like a family photo booth.

COVID protocols in place at the time of event will be observed, the township said.
