Gallery: Livingston's Community Pools
Perhaps the best spots in town to beat the heat are the community pools, offering a host of fun activities for children and adults.
This weekend promises to be hot, again, making Livingston's municipal pools the cool spots to be this summer.
Patch photographer John Marelli recently stopped by the pools and snapped shots of some summertime fun.
Livingston has two public pool complexes. There's the Mervyn V.T. Haines Community Pool (near the high school) and the Northland Pool (at end of Jefferson Court in Northland Complex). Membership gives residents access to both facilities.

Both pools offer many services and activities including: locker rooms with private showers and dressing rooms, chair lifts for the disabled, wading pools, water slides, table games, shuffleboard, and snack bars. Also, there are water exercise classes for adults and competitive swim teams for children, too, along with swimming lessons. In 2009, both pools were resurfaced and new benches, picnic tables and deck chairs were installed.
Livingston's Senior, Youth & Leisure Services Department has more information on classes and services, as well as on how to join the pools.
