Get Your Blood Pressure Screened For Free In Livingston

The Livingston Health Department will hold a free blood pressure screening event for local residents on June 26.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston Health Department will hold a free blood pressure screening event for local residents on Wednesday, June 26 from 10 a.m. to noon. The screening will be held at the Livingston Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue, in the First Aid Room on the first floor.

According to an advisory from the township:

“High blood pressure is known as ‘the silent killer’ because it has no symptoms of its own, but it can dramatically increase one’s risk of developing heart disease or stroke. Many people with high blood pressure don’t even know they have it; the signs and symptoms are often misunderstood. High blood pressure can be managed effectively though lifestyle changes and, when necessary, medication.”

The service is free of charge to Livingston residents. Appointments and walk-ins are welcome. To make an appointment, contact the Nursing/Health Education Division at 973-535-7961, ext. #7109, #7108 or #7110.
