From 'Good Trouble' To 'Manasquan,' Livingston Seniors Win Art Awards
Several Livingston senior citizens won awards for their art in a recent contest run by the County of Essex. A total of 125 people entered.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — You're never too old to excel at a new pastime or add beautiful creations to the world.
Dozens of seniors got a boost of inspiration and encouragement recently from the County of Essex's annual art contest. 32 of those seniors were announced as winners this month.
Five of them live in Livingston.

As pictured above, Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr. (second from right) recently congratulated Livingston residents Rosann K. Toma, Linda Levitt, Maryann Guerriero, Barbara Sax and Sheila Goldklang, who received awards in the Senior Citizens Juried Art Show.

- Toma won second place in the non-professional pastels category for “Flags Fly at Orange Reservoir.”
- Levitt won first place in the non-professional mixed media category for “Good Trouble.”
- Guerriero won second place in the non-professional craft category for “Joy.”
- Sax won first place in the non-professional acrylic category for “Bubbles.”
- Goldklang won first place in the non-professional watercolors category for “Manasquan.”
The artists were recognized during an awards ceremony on Friday, Sept. 8 in the Robert O’Toole Community Center in Essex County Cedar Grove Park in Cedar Grove.
There were 125 entries in total in this year’s contest.
