Gradeschool Cops: Livingston Kids Learn At 'Junior Police Academy'
Students in Livingston learned about various types of law enforcement work at an annual summer program.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — From polygraph tests to mounted police, Livingston kids learned a lot about law enforcement in a special annual "Junior Police Academy" this summer.
The Livingston Police Department recently held the program, open to rising sixth, seventh and eighth graders.
Highlights of the week included meeting the Newark Police Department’s Mounted Unit, a demonstration from the NJ State Police Polygraph Unit, riding with the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police on the Hudson River, a presentation by the NJ State Corrections K9 Unit, a field trip to Port Authority Police Department at Newark Airport, spending the afternoon with the Livingston Fire Department as well as presentations by various units of the Livingston Police Department.
