Happy Fourth of July!

Livingston will celebrate with a full day of events.

Get ready for the fireworks and more, as Livingston celebrates the Fourth of July in festive fashion.

Pony rides, food and fireworks are just some of the events that will be held on or near the Oval on Sunday.  This is the 74th year the township has sponsored activities to honor the national holiday.

Starting at 9 a.m., the Oval will be transformed into a festival grounds of sorts.  An auto show, swim "karnival," mini-golf course, rides and "kidz zone" are planned, along with live entertainment and a new "festival food fair." Also, WCBS FM — or radio station 101.1, playing greatest hits — will be on-hand from 10 a.m to 3 p.m.

At 9:15  p.m., fireworks will culminate the celebration.

In case of rain or inclement weather, daytime shows of Polka Dot and Powerhouse Studios will be held in the auditorium of the high school.  All other events will be cancelled.  Regularly scheduled performances including those by West the Defender, Madysin Hatter, Livingston Leo and Jobonanno & the Godsons of Soul will be held on a covered stage on the Oval.
