Here Are New Jersey Transit’s Most, Least-Used Train Stations
How many riders use your local NJ Transit train station on an average weekday? Find out here.

The NJ Transit rail system is responsible for providing more than 300,000 passenger trips every weekday. And if you’re one of those commuters – depending on what station you use – the daily ride to work can get a little crowded.
Patch recently reached out to NJ Transit to see which of its train stations have the highest and lowest weekday ridership totals. A spokesperson provided the agency’s statistics for fiscal year 2017.
According to NJ Transit, its busiest station was New York Penn, where a staggering 93,305 average weekday boardings took place, followed by Newark Penn (27,695), Secaucus Junction (26,298), Hoboken (15,628) and Metropark (7,537).
