Homeowner In Livingston Scares Away 2 Strangers Trying To Break In At 3 AM: Police

Police were called to a Livingston home in the wee hours of Sunday on a report of an attempted break-in.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Police in Livingston responded to a home just before 3 a.m. on Sunday when the homeowner reported seeing two strangers on the front porch "attempting to enter the residence."

Police headed to the home on Rumson Road at 2:56 a.m. on Jan. 28, they said.

According to police, the homeowner told them of hearing loud banging on the front porch. The homeowner also got a notification from their surveillance cameras and took a look.

Police said the trespassers were then "scared off upon seeing the homeowner."

The Livingston Detective Bureau is investigating.
