House Ransacked In Livingston: Police Reports This Week

A house was ransacked in Livingston and a car was stolen from a residence this past week, among recent police reports.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston police released details of reports they took for the week ending Saturday, Nov. 19. Among them, one house was broken into and ransacked.

On Tuesday, Nov. 15, Livingston officers responded to a Hadrian Drive home at 7:15 p.m. on a report of a burglary. The homeowner had returned home to find the house ransacked and the rear door forced open, police said. The resident is compiling a list of stolen items, police said.

This past Thursday, Nov. 19, the police responded at 10:19 a.m. to a home on Pine Valley Road. The resident told them that he woke up on Saturday morning to find his 2020 Audi A4 missing. The man had left it unlocked and accidentally left his key fob inside, he told police. The Detective Bureau is investigating.

Macy’s Shoplifting With Booster Bag

On Sunday at 4 p.m., Livingston police headed to the Macy’s at the Livingston Mall. A loss prevention officer had a 33-year-old Miami man in custody, police said. He put $400 worth of hats into a "booster bag" and left without paying, police said.

A booster bag is a bag that has electromagnetic shielding or foil so security devices won't pick up the tags.

The man was charged with shoplifting and released on a summons.
