Irene Doesn't Stop Car Break-In Spree
10 more cars in Livingston are broken into after the storm.

Irene couldn’t stop the thieves blamed for a rash of car break-ins in recent weeks in Livingston and neighboring towns.
Just before dawn on Monday, another 10 cars in Livingston were hit. Some were left unlocked and others had their drive door handle pried open. The crimes happened throughout town, on Fawn, Concord, Bryant, Hillside, Wilson and Burnett, the targets BMW, Nissan and Infinity models, according to Detective Sgt. Anthony Dippold.
The suspects rummaged through the vehicles’ glove compartments looking for valet keys. They took money, sunglasses and other various items, Dippold said.

The car break-ins are part of a spree in Livingston and surrounding towns, including Millburn and
Vehicle owners are reminded that in the vast majority of these incidents the cars broken into are unlocked. Police ask that if you do not do so already that you start locking your cars, remove all valuables, including the valet key, and report anything at all suspicious to police.
