Juneteenth Flag Raising At Livingston Town Hall: 2024 Events

The Livingston Committee for Diversity and Inclusion will celebrate the holiday with a public flag raising event.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston Committee for Diversity and Inclusion (LCDI) will celebrate the 2024 Juneteenth holiday with a public flag raising event at Town Hall, 357 South Livingston Avenue, on Wednesday, June 19.

Here’s what to expect, organizers said:

“The event will start at 6 p.m. at the Livingston Public Library with a screening of ‘Our America: Black Freedom,’ a documentary that tells stories of what Black freedom means today, from a 94-year-old’s quest for a national holiday, to the fight for reparations, to cultural celebrations. Following the film, there will be a celebration and flag raising ceremony at 7 p.m. at Livingston Town Hall. Featured speakers include local resident Bridgette Ingraham-Roberts, officers from the NAACP Oranges and Maplewood Branch, and students from the Livingston High School Black Students Union.”
