Keller Williams Suburban Realty in Livingston Dedicates Day to Helping Feed the Hungry
On Thursday, May 11, 2017, associates of Keller Williams Suburban Realty, located in the Livingston Town Ctr., helped feed residents in need
On Thursday, May 11, 2017, associates of Keller Williams Suburban Realty in Livingston donated their time to prepare, package and deliver hot and cold food for C.H.O.W. (Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse), a local food pantry. The Keller Williams Suburban team members were among more than 150,000 KW associates worldwide participating in the real estate franchise’s eighth annual RED Day, which stands for Renew, Energize and Donate. RED Day is a collective service initiative whereby all Keller Williams offices worldwide donate a day to give back to the local community. Temple B’nai Abraham in Livingston donated the use of its kitchen and adjoining space so the KWSR volunteers could cook and bake hot meals, as well as prepare sandwiches and assorted other lunch foods.
C.H.O.W. provides food to 30 local families and sends excess food to other area pantries and soup kitchens. Food prepared during the KW Red Day event was stored in C.H.O.W.’s freezers and will be delivered to local families over the next few weeks. Additionally, sandwiches and snacks were delivered via C.H.O.W. to St. Ann’s soup kitchen in Newark, where they were immediately distributed.
Keller Williams Suburban Realty Operating Principal Steven Gendel remarked, “We are honored to be a part of the Keller Williams Red Day...our international event highlights the community spirit of our agents helping, supporting, and working in our local community! We take great pride in supporting C.H.O.W. and Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors. It is always a joy to take the time to help others.” Stacey Rubinstein, President of Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors (LNHN) said, “The work that Keller Williams Suburban Realty did today was just incredible, and we value this partnership. Meals were delivered just a few hours after being made to those in dire need, and C.H.O.W. was also able to stock its freezers with home cooked meals, which will serve as a comfort to local residents who are food insecure. Good well done is an understatement. ”
