Middle School Team In Livingston Places First In NJ Competition, But Not In Sports
Students on middle school teams in Livingston placed first and second in a NJ competition and were honored by the school board.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston's middle school kids aren't confused by "fuzzy math." They know their way around their numbers.
In the annual New Jersey Math League (NJML) competition on April 6, Mt. Pleasant Middle School finished first in the state and the county, with sixth grader Hadrian Zheng taking first place in the state in the individual competition.
In addition, Heritage Middle School's seventh grade team earned third place in the state and second place in the county, while the eighth grade team came in second place in both the state and the county.

The New Jersey Math League is a competition in which students answer challenging questions that expand upon their knowledge of pre-algebra (grade 6 competition), algebra (grade 7 competition) and geometry (grade 8 competition).
For the sixth grade division, students signed up to take part in the competition that was held after school. For seventh and eighth grade, the competitions were administered in Alaina Burrows' algebra 1 classes in grade 7 and Gary Silverman's geometry classes in grade 8.
