Land Rover Stolen In Livingston In Wee Hours This Week, Police Say
Police tried to stop a suspicious pair of vehicles traveling "in tandem" in Livingston, then realized one had just been stolen.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — A car was stolen this week, and a man was charged with attempted burglary to cars earlier this month, the Livingston police said.
Police said this past Tuesday, at 1:06 a.m., a Livingston officer noticed a "suspicious" Land Rover Evoque on Wingate Drive driving in tandem with a white BMW.
The officer attempted to stop the vehicles, but both of them fled, police said.

Police determined that the Land Rover Evoque had just been stolen from a Wingate Drive residence. It had been left unlocked with the key fob inside, police said.
Police are investigating.

A week earlier, police said, on Dec. 6, officers responded to the area of Charles Street at 1:50 p.m. on a report of a male suspect pulling on car door handles. Police found a suspect, Alexzander Deondre Jean, 18, from East Orange.
"Investigation revealed that Jean attempted to enter and entered four different vehicles on Charles Street," police said. He was charged with burglary, three counts of criminal attempt (burglary), and theft. He was taken to the Essex County Jail.
