Help Wanted: High School Principal
BOE to consider Pamela Clause McGroarty's letter of resignation at Monday's meeting.
After spending 40 years with the Livingston School District, high school principal Pamela Clause McGroarty has announced her retirement.
During her tenure with the district, she has been a physical education teacher, supervisor of health and physical education, assistant principal of the high school, and principal of Mount Pleasant Middle School.
In 1995, she won the outstanding teaching award from the New Jersey Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

Since 2006, McGroarty has been principal of the high school, where she oversaw the $51 million addition to the science and music wings, and overall renovations.
The Board of Education is expected to accept her resignation at its meeting tonight at the high school beginning at 7:30 p.m. The meeting agenda can be found here.

The district has begun to publicize for McGroarty’s job, placing an ad in local media and on the district’s Web site.
Livingston High School is nationally recognized for student achievement, the ad says. The principal has responsibility for 1,750 students in grades 9-12 and more than 200 teachers and staff. Deadline for applications is Feb. 25.
