The Livingston softball team, under the direction of head coach Jason Daily, takes a 1-2 record into a very busy schedule this week. It will look to get back to its winning ways when it hosts Roxbury on Monday at 4 p.m.
Livingston won its first game of the season on April 2 – an 11-2 decision over Wood-Ridge – but dropped decisions to Cedar Grove (5-2 on April 4) and Mount St. Dominic (17-12 on April 6).
In the opener, which was a Bergen/Essex Challenge game played at Immaculate Heart Academy in Washington Twp., Livingston received solid pitching from senior Alex Pizzoli and sophomore Jess Peslak, who combined on a one-hitter. Pizzoli allowed just one hit and one earned run and struck out seven in five innings of work before yielding to Peslak, who tossed two innings of relief, striking out six.
