LIVINGSTON, NJ — The New Jersey Forest Service has started posting an updated map each Friday of the level of color change in the leaves in each county, and highlighted state parks to visit for fall beauty.

With little rain this summer and high temperatures, they say the colors will vary more than usual by location.

(If you like rain, you may be in for a treat this Thursday — stay tuned, as some models predict a downpour with thunderstorms late.)

The Service said Friday that they see "some change" in Essex County so far.

"Disclaimer," they said, "Certain species of trees change colors and/or drop their leaves faster than others, such as ash, oak and sycamore trees."
