Livingston entered its Super Essex Conference game against Seton Hall Prep as a prohibitive underdog with the West Orange school being ranked as high as No. 1 in some high school baseball rankings this spring.
But none of that mattered Saturday as the Lancers rode the arm of Brian Drapeau for six innings and Nick Grande went 2-for-3 including a three-run home run to give Livingston (3-0) a 6-2 victory on the road over Seton Hall Prep (2-1).
Drapeau, a senior right-hander, improved to 2-0 on the year. He allowed five hits, two walks and two earned runs in six innings of work before being relieved by Brady Mclaughlin, who earned the save by striking out two and walking one in a scoreless seventh.

Livingston took a 1-0 edge in the top of the second inning when Brandon Levy singled in Grande. Seton Hall Prep took a 2-1 advantage in the second on a two-run homer by Matt Cianci. The Lancers grabbed the lead for good in the fifth as John Sorrentino reached on a walk and scored on an error and Levy doubled and came across on a squeeze bunt by second baseman Connor Kimmel.
In the sixth, Grande provided Drapeau with some cushion when he launched a three-run home run to centerfield.
