On Tuesday, Livingston's travelling 17-and-under baseball team did exactly what a good team does. With West Essex having just eight players available, Livingston took advantage and cruised to a 12-5 win in an away game that ended after four innings because of a coach's agreement.
The Lancers batted around in the third inning, scoring eight runs.
Rob Fredek had a two-run single during the inning and Andrew Egner and Dylan McCauley and Connor Kimmel delivered RBI hits. Egner added a two-run double in a four-run fourth and McCauley added a RBI double. McCauley, who drove in the game's first run, was 3-for-3 with a run scored. Kimmel had three hits and two runs scored and Egner also had three runs scored.

West Essex coach Anthony Angelo and his players have been frustrated about being short-handed. West Essex had just two outfielders – Anthony Romito in left field and Aristotle Michalaki in right — and Livingston took advantage with several hits that either dropped into a huge gap in center or groundballs slapped up the middle.
Livingston scored eights runs in the third inning and three more in the fourth to take a 12-1 lead. But West Essex showed some spark in the bottom of the inning, scoring four runs with Romito and Jason Russo getting RBI singles — and two others scored on errors.
