Livingston Businesswoman Shares Secret of Her Financial Longevity

What's the key to staying in business for 20 years? Find out here.

A Livingston woman is celebrating her 20th year in business this year... what’s her secret?

According to Lynn Meisler, the CEO of Duet I Curated Consignment, a luxury resale boutique that specializes in designer handbags, shoes, clothing and jewelry, the longevity of her business is due to rigorous authentication standards and a transparent approach to customer service.

“Over the years, we’ve been able to grow this loyal community of customers and consignors because they come back for the ‘Duet Experience,’ because they know they can only get that here. Duet is a place where people want to be because of what we’ve made: a luxury shopping experience founded on trust… That’s what fosters long-lasting relationships.”

According to Meisler, while most area consignment stores have turned to e-commerce, her decision to grow Duet without it is a strategic one.

“I’ve always been true to the brand, and as it stands right now, my feeling is that e-commerce would take too much away from the in-store experience,” said Meisler. “Our customer relationships have kept Duet in business for 20 years.”
